The French Market is now open.

Arjel After several months of anticipation, speculation and debate, France officially opened Tuesday its online gambling market by granting 17 licenses to 11 operators, just three days before the start of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa - according to a decree published in the Official Journal-. Three types of online bets will be covered by the new dispensation: for horse racing, sport betting and online poker. 8 operators will be able to offer sport betting in France in the coming weeks. 35 applications had been submitted altogether and between 15 and 20 for sport betting.

BetClic's new fun video

BetClic just launched a new ad campaign in Europe. Although Betclic is famous for sports betting, the ad focuses on the website's poker activity. I really enjoyed that video it is quite funny !
The main point of the video is to show that 3 of a kind, even if they are dwarfs, are always stronger than 2 of a kind even if they are giants ! That is true for Poker but is it also the case for fighting ? You tell me...
The ad will first be broadcast in Italy the 29th of March.

Betting and Gambling Population in the UK

Guess what is one of the most popular form of betting in the UK ?

Private betting (betting with family, friends, colleagues,..) is very popular among the British population, according to the extremely serious NatCen – Gambling Commission “British Gambling Prevalence survey – 2007” : 10% of the population declared they took part at least one time in private betting in the last 12 months.

This figure is extremely high considering the population which declared gambling online on casinos is 3% of the population.. Still the most popular form of gambling is the lottery : According to the survey 52% of interrogated persons participated in the National Lottery over the past 12 months!
