Online Betting in Italy, a new betting leader ?
By Caroline on Friday 14 May 2010, 11:58 - General Betting

Saturn bets against France for the World Cup
By Caroline on Wednesday 12 May 2010, 13:46 - Fun Bets
The electronics' company Saturn is willing to risk having
to give TVs bought before Mai 17 for free, if the French Team wins the World
Cup.
The company even contracted a special kind of insurance to insure itself
against that risk. The amount paid for that unusual insurance
is however unknown. Cynics will argue that it must not be too high, given the
chances the French team has of winning... However should the french national
team win the world cup, Saturn will pay all its customers that
bought a TV before Mai 17 back the worth of their purchase.
So if the french team wins, some people might have two causes to party : the World Cup title for their favorite team and a free TV !!
This type of promotional betting is not unheard of and comes in a period of
high sales. Mars organized a freezing bet in 2003 and was willing to refund up
to 50euros of ice cream bought between Mai and August should the temperature
rise to 31C in Paris on August 31.
Before the world cup, TV sales generally rise 20% to 50% so it is a perfect time for manufacturers and distributors to promote their products. Carrefour actually followed Saturn's example by offering it's TV bought from Mai 7 to Mai 25 should the french team win or a 50% refund should they arrive in semi-finals. Seems that according to TV manufacturers and distributors, the french team has little chance to win the cup this year...
So if you want to bet against Saturn or Carrefour and support the French team, you just have to risk it and buy a TV, chances are you will be happy with your purchase and will be able to watch the games whatever the result of the World Cup. Bets are on...

Office Betting
By Caroline on Tuesday 4 May 2010, 16:29 - Office Bet
Wether it is online or offline everyone bets. People bet at home with their family on political challenges or Tv shows.
At the pub with their friends or colleagues on the outcome of the game they are watching or at the office on the private or public matters. The stakes can range from money, to bere, or a dare. But it is still betting, trying to see the outcome of something before the other ones.
And where it is you think private bets most commonly take place ? Well I bet you have guessed : it is at the place we spend most of our time : the office...
Office betting is the most common place to organize bets. At the office you can bet on the color of your boss' tie before he comes in or on the result of the champion leagues. You can bet with the colleague from the accounting departement you hardly ever speak too or with your best pals from work.
However betting at the office can be a bit tricky. First there is the tediousness of getting the excel file ready for the bet and of getting everyone to give the money. It takes time and the dedication of at least one person in the office that really want the bet to take place. Then there is the political aspect of it : should you bet with your boss, what if he wins or worse what if he looses ?
But isn't the best form of betting ? Don't you love the respect you get from your co-workers when you come back on the monday morning after a tricky game and you pronosticated the right would win? That definetly offsets the couple drawbacks...

How much did YOU bet on the elections ?
By Caroline on Monday 3 May 2010, 18:27 - General Betting
The elections in the UK are a crazy time, when it comes to
betting. Everyone think they know who will win or at least wants to convince
themself they know who will. So there is a lot of betting going on...
However this year's set a new record with 40M$ that were bet on the election, according to the Washington Post. Election Betting usually start up to 1 month before the first round of the election and get more intense as the time of the election approaches. This amount is approxymatly twice the amount bet by other voters in other countries.
However, as you might have guessed elections' bets are not as popular as sport's bet. In some events such as the Grand National this month, 600M$ were bid ! But Football has nothing to be ashamed of and a first league championship has on average 15M$ bids ...
